If you're here, you are looking for an answer to the question: how to be more productive? Right? So, before we talk about how to be more productive let's see what does productivity even mean? Productivity simply is a measure of the efficiency of a person completing a task. Yes, you heard it right. People often think that productivity is getting more things done daily, but that is wrong. Productivity is getting things done consistently.
So now you might have an idea of what productivity is. Now, let's know how to raise one's productivity:
Cut your to-do list in half: Do not put that many tasks that your whole day gets occupied. Follow a ‘less-is-more’ approach and complete those things that really matter.
Take more breaks: After working a lot, a headache follows. That is the signal that your brain has used all of its glucose and you need rest. Take a break by going for a walk, listening to music or any other method by which you feel comfortable and get back to work with greater efficiency.
Follow the 80/20 rule: Eliminate the things that don't matter in your work day because 20% of what you do creates 80% of your results. Work with minimal effects should be eliminated as they affect your overall productivity.
Focus on yourself in the morning: Start your day by getting a good breakfast, meditation, reading the news or working out. Don't start your day by checking emails or calendar as then your tasks are dictated by others. Self care fuels you for a productive day.
Do tough tasks first: Your brain remains fresh in the morning so try to complete challenging tasks right in the morning. Schedule your meetings in the afternoon. Scheduling your day properly helps a lot in making a day productive in the true sense.
Create a system/plan: You must have created distracting habits that kill productivity. List all the work that you do in a day and only focus on those that matter and are beneficial for you.
Stop multitasking: Don't try to complete multiple tasks at a time. Just focus on one task and get it done more efficiently and effectively.
Ask for help on things you don't understand: Don't get stuck on work that you don't know how to do. Stop searching for methods to get it done by yourself. Ask for help from your friends or colleagues. This will get the work done faster and will save loads of time in the long run.
Not only these above mentioned things or habits but your work environment also affects your productivity a lot. Make your environment or workspace look good to you so that you wish to work by yourself without getting bored. Organize your work space according to your interests. That will tend to boost your productivity
