One of the best ways to deal with anxiety and stress is to adopt a morning
routine. A well-defined and efficient routine can have noticeable effects on
one's mental health. By putting distractions aside a morning routine saves our
focus for the important stuff. This converts any activity into a zero thought
process thus improving our chances of sticking to good habits. Not only do
routines help those dealing with issues like laziness but also help people who
are combating various mental issues like ADHD and Bipolar Disorder.
Morning routines vary from person to person. However, here are some
elements that every beginner should add to their routine.
1. Get plenty sleep
Getting a sufficient amount of sleep is key to a refreshing morning. Try to
avoid using mobile phones till late at night instead follow a well-made night
routine.
2. Drink some water
Drinking water is a good way to rehydrate yourself after eightish hours of not
drinking water. It not only provides you with mental awakeness but also
physically energizes your body to tackle the rest of the day.
3. Avoid checking phone
When we wake up we are in a comparatively relaxed state. By checking our
phones, we allow loads of negative and stressful news into our system that
affect us the rest of the day. So why not just maintain the calm and enjoy it to
the fullest.
4. Engage in self-care activities
Morning is the best time to spend on yourself. Self-care activities like washing
your face and doing light exercise help improve your mood. Exercise routines
are essential to an active mind and a healthy functional body. Whereas skin
care can uplift your self-esteem.
5. Create a To-Do list
A simple list of what you want to do for the rest of the day can organize your
tasks to a large extent. This gives a great boost in our productivity and
prevents us from getting bogged down.
A game plan before you tackle the
hurdles of the day can provide predictability in this uncertain world. It gives us
the feeling of control over our lives.
These simple tricks can improve your mornings tremendously, and you can
finally have the productive day you have been delaying since so long!
